Situation
A key customer in the cargo business, operating multiple vehicles, encountered a latent, undetected malfunction in one of their vehicles. On the 4th of July, during early evening hours, despite the absence of any error codes or the Check Engine Light activation, the vehicle appeared to operate normally but was on the brink of a potential breakdown.
Solution
The customer used Intangles’ ML-driven system, which issued an engine overheating alert for the vehicle in question. Intangles was then consulted for a more in-depth analysis. Our team conducted a thorough diagnosis and determined the alert was predictive, based on anomalous engine temperature trends signaling a cooling system issue.
Success
Following our recommendations, the customer inspected the vehicle and discovered a coolant pipe leak— a serious issue that could lead to engine seizure due to overheating if left unaddressed. By topping up the coolant and repairing the leak, the customer effectively averted a major vehicle breakdown and potential engine block failure.
